The Kettering Family Foundation was created by Eugene W. and Virginia W. Kettering on December 12, 1955 in Hinsdale, Illinois. The registered office moved to Dayton, Ohio in December of 1966. The grant application office opened in Denver, Colorado on January 1, 1993.The Foundation is currently composed of 13 family members who may elect up to 12 trustees annually. At the present time the Board of Trustees are all direct descendents or spouses of descendents who live throughout the United States.
